Our Thoughts: We all know that there's nothing worse than bashing up your new cranks in rock gardens. Crank skins have come up with a rather simple solution to save the look or your cranks. Crank skins are essentially a heavy duty tape or sticker that you apply to your cranks. It may be a simple solution but it actually works. We were a little sceptical when we first applied the crank skins to our cranks, thinking that after a few messy wet rides they would peel off. We were wrong! The crank skins stayed on without any problems at all. Towards the end of our test we began to have a little peeling around the pedal spindles were there is not very much contact for the sticker. Crank skins has addressed this problem by now offering their 3/4 crank skin which is said to eliminate the peeling around the pedal spindles. www.mtbiking.ca will try out this new crank skin and see how it works. All in all the crank skin is a great product. It protects your cranks very well, and with all the design and colour options available adds a little personality to your ride too! Crankskins was nice enough to send mtbiking.ca their 3/4 crank skin for us to try out. The 3/4 crank skin worked as well as the original model without the peeling around the pedal axle.
