It's Summertime!

Yep, here we are in June, and kids are graduating from school, and people are planning vacations, and neighborhoods are smelling like barbecue, and that means it is summer, which also means it is t-shirt season (this roughly parallels that whole "wear white between memorial day and labor day" rule). To celebrate this, we have reduced the pricing of ALL the t-shirts in our webstore. Check 'em out. It is your social duty to buy some, and to honor summer with some fine cotton goodness.

Really, you call this Summer?
Admittedly, the weather sure as heck doesn't seem very summery here. The Sierras just got another foot of snow dumped on them this weekend, and we are expected to get pounded with rain on the coast again for the whole weekend. To say nothing of the current tornado frenzy laying waste to the heartland. It is proving to be one of the coldest, wettest, crappiest lead-ins to summer in memory. Which means it is a good time to wear fine 100% merino wool.

In fact, something that was made out of this amazing wool and looked like a t-shirt but was really designed to be a performance cycling garment, that'd be just about the perfect go-to garment for shoulder season meteorological schizophrenia. Indeed it would, especially when embroidered with the power enhancing, mood improving, goodwill generating juju of the ever-trustworthy S-man.
Seriously, these are mighty good jerseys.
If it's Summer, but rainy, it must be time for World Cup racing in Scotland!

The World Cup Downill circuit made a stop at Fort William this weekend, for the tenth time. And Santa Cruz Syndicate rider Greg Minnaar came away victorious, for the fourth time. Much as we'd love to say the victory is all due to his carbon V10, it's more a convincing case for just how dialed in Mister Mignarly has that course by now. Many congratulations to Greg and team, as Minnaar now gets to wear the World Cup leader's jersey heading to Leogang, Austria next weekend.
This weekend was a ripper of a race - aside from Minnaar's ride, there were some very significant goings on that make it worth every second of the replay.
You can catch the replay at freecaster , and after watching that, discuss whether Danny Hart
a) made a pact with the devil,
b) has better reflexes than any human on the planet, or
c) is the luckiest little pinner alive.
Joe's Corner, it's baaaack...
Yes, it has been a while since head engineer Joe Graney has poured his acidic wisdom out into the world. He's been busy. We've been busy. Such is life. Anyway, he's got the first of what will be a three part installment here, about the nature of stiffness and just what that means in terms of mountain bikes.
Dig in, get edumacated...
